I can't wait to see the look on your face. I know the look.
I just returned from my third visit to Israel in the last six months. And once again, I've come away, blown away. Each time, its the same, yet each time its different. I see some new sights, I hear some new facts, I meet some new people, but I watch the same thing.
I watch people as they step on holy ground. I watch them descend into holy water. I watch them enter holy places. And I watch them ponder in amazement and wonder at the reality this man named Jesus of Nazareth really did live on this planet we call home.
He really did enter what we call humanity.
He really did come to a place we call earth.
He really did enter from the place we call Bethlehem.
He really did live in a town we call Nazareth.
He really did get baptized into a river we call Jordan.
He really did walk on a sea we call Galilee.
He really did teach on a mount we call Beatitudes.
He really did heal a man with what we call real friends.
He really did dine with a man who was what we call too short.
He really did turn a few fish and loaves into what we call leftovers.
He really did raise Lazarus from what we call dead.
He really did declare Peter what we call a big rock.
He really did pray in a garden we call Gethsamane.
He really did triumphantly enter a city we call Jerusalem.
He really did endure what we call a beating.
He really did walk a way we call dolorosa.
He really did die on a hill we call Calvary.
He really did leave a tomb what we call... empty.
I can't wait for you to touch the land where Jesus lived and died. And I can't wait for it to touch you.
I want to see that look on your face...
